When a school reviews an outside evaluation, there is one important question parents should ask:
“Are you accepting this evaluation report in its entirety?”
The school may not agree with every recommendation in the report, and that can happen.
But parents should make sure the school accepts the evaluation itself as valid and accurate.
If the school accepts the report and the results, ask for that to be documented. You want it on the record in case it is needed later.
The key is this: the school might not accept all the recommendations, but if they accept the report as valid and accurate, that can still be very important for your child’s educational record.
