I am excited to let you all know about new services I am offering, Strategy Sessions and Strategy Sessions with Document Review. These sessions can save you time and money and help get your child services he/she needs as soon as possible.
What is a Strategy Session? It is an hour meeting with me, via Zoom currently, that we can discuss your child’s needs and any school issues or even just prepare you for a meeting. Some examples are: that your child is having behavior issues and you are not sure of appropriate services; or your child is up for eligibility and you are not sure what evaluations you should ask for at the evaluation planning meeting; or the school said they cannot provide a service and you are wondering whether it is legal for them to say no.
What is a Strategy Session with Document Review? Same hour long meeting with me, but I will review a draft IEP, evaluations or other documents provided by you before the meeting. At the meeting we will go over the documents and I will give you my opinion about services and accommodations. I will also answer any questions or explain any sections.
Why am I so excited? Because I feel this is a need that families have that some do not even know they need. You do not need to commit to a long-term engagement. Sometimes just one quick meeting is all that is needed. At the Strategy Sessions, I will be honest about whether I think you need me to attend the meeting or not. Sometimes it will be yes, sometimes it will be no, contact my office to schedule a session if you want to talk it through.
