Part 6 – Accommodations for District and State Assessments

Hi everyone. Part six of the IEP is the accommodations for district and state assessments. Accommodations for assessments can be lots of different things. Often, the school just proposes the standard ones. However, you can ask for more. Watch the video below for more details!

And guess what! Maryland State Department of Education even has a full manual that has details about each accommodation that is allowed in Appendix G, the Quick Reference Guide to Accommodations for Students with Disabilities. (Sorry, no direct link.) There is also a policy overview with instructions on how to request a unique accommodation.

It also includes accommodations for 504 plans and English as Second Language learners.
